As a populous country in Africa, Nigeria is gradually growing into a potential medical device market under the huge population base. At the same time, due to the small number of local manufacturers, the medical device products here are mainly imported, attracting a large number of international companies.
Nigeria has not yet established a nationwide medical and health service system, especially in the vast rural areas where there is a lack of medical care. The problem of lack of medical care is more serious. The nationwide improvement of drinking water coverage rate reached 58%, and sanitary equipment coverage rate was 31%. There are more than 20,210 doctors and 106,453 beds in the country. The ratio of patients to doctors is 4,400:1.
