PHARMEDI & HEALTHCARE VIETNAM 2026 officially opened on the morning of 22 September 2026 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in a formal, vibrant and bustling atmosphere. The event welcomed representatives and leaders from the healthcare sector, industry associations, businesses and exhibitors, together with a large gathering of domestic and international healthcare professionals and trade visitors.
Held alongside Eldercare Expo and RAVEX, PHARMEDI & HEALTHCARE VIETNAM 2026 brings together more than 600 brands from over 20 countries and territories, showcasing a diverse range of products, medical equipment, technologies and solutions across the healthcare sector. The event also provides a platform for businesses, industry professionals and domestic and international visitors to connect, exchange knowledge and explore new opportunities for trade and collaboration.
OPENING CEREMONY WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, RELEVANT AUTHORITIES AND INDUSTRY ASSOCIATIONS
At the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Ben Wong – Country General Manager, Informa Markets Vietnam, delivered the welcome remarks, welcoming guests, partners, exhibitors and members of the healthcare community to Pharmedi Vietnam 2026 and officially kicking off three days of connection, knowledge sharing and discovery of innovations across the healthcare sector. “Today, we are proud to bring together an even broader healthcare community, connecting pharmaceuticals, medical technologies, rehabilitation, elderly care, knowledge and business opportunities. We believe that the future of healthcare will be shaped not by one sector, one technology or one organisation alone, but through stronger connections across the entire ecosystem.” – Mr Ben Wong said.
At the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen – Deputy Minister of Health, delivered the opening address, highlighting the role of the exhibition in fostering connections, sharing expertise and keeping pace with the latest developments in healthcare. He believes “I firmly believe that, with the support and collaboration of government regulatory agency, scientists, hospitals, associations, and the domestic and international business communities, PHARMEDI VIETNAM will continue to strengthen its role as a bridge between science, technology, and practical applications in the healthcare sector, contributing to the promotion of innovation, the enhancement of healthcare service quality”. His remarks also underscored the importance of innovation, collaboration and sustainable development for Vietnam’s healthcare sector in the new era.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE OPENING DAY
The first day of PHARMEDI VIETNAM 2026 brought a vibrant atmosphere, with visitors exploring the exhibition, businesses connecting with potential partners, and industry professionals discovering new products, solutions and technologies across the healthcare sector.
Alongside the exhibition, the International Conference, under the theme “Vietnam’s Healthcare Industry: The Next Decade of Growth,” officially kicked off with discussions focusing on Vietnam’s healthcare growth outlook, investment opportunities, hospital development and emerging technologies, offering practical insights from industry experts.
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE: GROWTH AND INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN VIETNAM’S HEALTHCARE SECTOR
The international conferences focused on the development potential of Vietnam’s healthcare market, growth opportunities, investment trends, and the factors shaping the development of healthcare services as well as hospital investment and procurement activities.
The programme opened with Dr. Duong Huy Luong – Deputy General Director, Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, Ministry of Health, who shared insights into the potential and prospects for medical tourism development in Vietnam, covering the current landscape, market demand, and Vietnam’s competitive advantages. The session also highlighted key priorities for developing medical tourism in alignment with healthcare service capacity and patients’ actual needs.
The programme continued with Ms. Rathanesh Ramasundram – Regional Practice Area Leader, APAC (Healthcare & Life Sciences), Frost & Sullivan, who focused on growth opportunities, investment trends, and the future of healthcare delivery. Her presentation explored changing healthcare needs and the trends influencing how healthcare services are invested in and delivered across the region.
From a hospital management perspective, Ms. Nguyen Bao Uyen – Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Hop Luc JSC and Director of Hop Luc Health System, examined hospital procurement and investment decision-making in Vietnam. The session focused on how hospitals make procurement decisions in practice, the factors considered when making investments, and how operational needs influence the selection of products, equipment, and solutions. Another key session on Day 1 was “AI in Healthcare: Hype, Reality and Implementation in ASEAN”, which examined the gap between expectations and the realities of implementing AI in healthcare. The discussion explored emerging applications, practical implementation considerations, and the opportunities and challenges that healthcare systems across ASEAN need to consider when integrating AI into healthcare delivery.
Of particular note, the panel discussion “Why Vietnam is Becoming Southeast Asia’s Most Attractive Healthcare Growth Market” brought together representatives from several hospitals and healthcare organisations. The speakers discussed healthcare spending trends, hospital capacity challenges, specialised medical capabilities, differences in healthcare demand between urban and provincial areas, growth opportunities in specialty care, and the outlook for foreign investment. Drawing on the practical experience of healthcare providers, the discussion offered a closer look at the factors shaping the development of Vietnam’s healthcare market.
Across these sessions, the first day’s programme moved from the broader market landscape and medical tourism potential to investment, hospital operations, and AI technology, creating a cohesive discussion around the factors directly influencing the development and transformation of Vietnam’s healthcare sector.

These activities provided opportunities for businesses to showcase their products, engage directly with potential partners and explore collaboration opportunities.
The programme also featured a specialised session on “Current Status of Medical Device Quality Management During Distribution and Use in Vietnam” with the participation of a representative from the Vietnam Infrastructure and Medical Device Administration (VIMDA), Ministry of Health. The session provided insights into the current status of medical device quality management and facilitated direct discussions among participants on relevant issues.
